Just wanted to continue the thoughts about how "-ing" syndome affects us all. We've recently had a personal experience that, due to technical difficulties on the webinars, I haven't been able to share. We recently found out that Lori is pregnant, so we were celebrat-ing. Due to the tim-ing of her pregnancy and Brain Spa, let's just say Squaw Valley must have been inspir-ing:) So we go into her OB for some test-ing. The ultrasound tech says everything looks great, then asks if this is her first ultrasound. Lori responds "yes". "Oh" says the tech. Lori said her response was concern-ing, and she asks if everything is ok with the baby. "Absolutely", responds the tech, "the baby looks terrific"; "BOTH of them". Twins!! Now this news was shocking, something we weren't expect-ing, but most importantly a bless-ing. (Twins do not run on either side of the family, and there was no fertility intervention, hence the added suprise) So we are both still process-ing, plann-ing, and self-regulat-ing. One of my first calls was to Dr. Sea to get some sound advice. He let out a solid belly-laugh and congratulated us, along with refocus-ing me. Today's call gave a good reference for being open and not expect-ing a result, because as we've learned yet again, it's all about cherish-ing just how amaz-ing life truly is!

That is awesome you all!!! In all of our own lives and in our own ways it really is a challenge to just let go and enjoy the ride, at least for me. That has been a major improvement for me this year. As a High C with, according to studies, a high motivation I can get absorbed in tasks very easily and can and have looked back on my life and seen many missed opportunities to enjoy life. Not that I have not enjoyed life plenty but just moments lost. I look at them as a lesson and not regret. I do forgive myself for what I did not know. This speaks to what Dr. Hassig jsut described and what Swaim described with regard to the impact that our training can have on our lives. I know that my life and the lives of those I care for the most are and will continue to be much more "full" due to the consciousness and learning from DCM. Life is Amaz-ing Dr. Hassig. It will be even more concern-ing if the one or both of the kids looks like the bellman at the lodge. I think he is a twin. ;) Enjoy your Christmas "presents".

Great posts here boys! I'm cracking up! Dr. Perron, this might be my favorite post from you. It has such loving depth and honesty yet the bellman part made me laugh out loud!
I love this news for you two, huge CONGRATS and ditto Dr. Brad on takeaways from the forum today. Our lives are forever changed by DCM and this tribe! We will never be satisfied with mediocre.Posted 1 year ago # -
Thank you. I am trying to steadily "expand" Dr. Shannon. :) If I get too warm and fuzzy all at once, I am afraid I might "explode".

Thanks everyone for the congratulations. I appreciate both attributes Dr. Perron; some serious and some fun makes for a good balance. Hopefully "Walker" and "Texas Ranger" inherit these traits from me:)

That's what you're going to name your daughters?
Posted 1 year ago # -
No, then they can be Allie and Bama. :) Or Kay and Marti. Sweet let's all think of names.

If they are a boy and a girl you could go with naming them after a certain two coaches whose names start with a D and a C. Then you could mentor them in life and you would become the D. C. Mentor.

Hey Hassig, are you already shopping for little Wrangler jeans? They might come with the Coppenhagen circle rubbed into the back pocket already too. Oooh, how about Forrest and Bubba or Jenny if you get a little lady in there too.

I'd lean more towards Zach's suggestion Chris. Very creative. My top two boy names have already been overruled: Roscoe and Bocephus. Fiddlesticks!! For now it's Alpha and Beta. Apparently I need to work on some girl names: Cagney and Lacey, Laverne and Shirley...
