While you can be sympathetic and patient with any objections that may come up, let them know that you’re committed to implementing the changes as planned.

By Dr. Frank Sovinsky

Dr. A

Dr. A:
Remember, what employees really need from you is direction, guidance, enthusiasm, and emotional support. Becoming a leader who facilitates change may well be one of the most important roles you play as you develop your business. The strategic dismantling of ‘Old–practice’ procedures and getting the entire team behind it takes resolve and courage.

Acknowledge that some people may resist change – even positive change. While you can be sympathetic and patient with any objections that may come up, let them know that you’re committed to implementing the changes as planned. Ask them to suspend their judgment, give the process a fair trial, and see what positive results may come out of it.
