Calling patients after they have had their first adjustment is extremely important and you are absolutely right, calling them right away when they have just left your office seems a little redundant.

By Dr. Cecile Thackeray

Dear Coaches:

I was wondering what the correct protocol is for calling patients who have just had their first adjustment If I call them at the end of my day, when I finish the last adjustment it seems like calling them before they make it home!

Dear Dr. R.

Calling patients after they have had their first adjustment is extremely important and you are absolutely right, calling them right away when they have just left your office seems a little redundant. It is OK to call a patient up until about 8:30 that evening to check up on them and find out if they had any questions from their RYF. If, for some reason, you are unavailable to phone that evening it would be wise to call their work or home number first thing in the morning and follow the same procedure with your call.
