Dear Coaches:
I’m starting to plan a C.O.W. How much lead time do I need to allow for preparation before the actual event

Dear Dr. J,
The amount of time necessary to plan a C.O.W. is really dependant on how extravagant an event you plan on hosting! Some doctors have had great success with only a small amount of internal promotion. While other doctors, in recognition of some other type of celebration (like a practice anniversary) have turned a COW into a part of an extravaganza. Naturally this type of event would require more lead time and preparation.
On a smaller scale your promotion could actually be implemented with just a two to three week lead time! A more elaborate event may require up to 8 weeks of planning.
